A nine-stage pipeline transforms the raw article corpus into structured events: community detection on a multi-channel similarity graph, same-incident deduplication, cross-lingual merging, cross-day story chaining, LLM-based enrichment (one call per event, not per article), and multi-ontology classification via a single OpenAI text-embedding-3-large vector over the event title and description. The classification path is pure embedding + cosine ranking - no LLM call.
